The Best of World and Czech Music

The Best of World and Czech Music

“World music” is a much discussed concept in the musical world today and the Czech Collegium orchestra under the musical direction of Vladimir Bazant has now presented its own brilliant contribution to this debate with an unusually interesting selection of pieces.
With works by Dvořák, Bach, Vivaldi and other great composers, the orchestra proves that music knows no boundaries. It is hard to separate the magic created by the setting from that of the beautiful music, as the unique backdrop of the Spanish Synagogue automatically conjures up fantasies, which together with the music, whisk listeners away on an imaginary journey. When selecting the concert pieces the orchestra has a strong focus on Czech composers. Their music not only captivates musical connoisseurs, the sincerity with which it is performed adds an unexpected dimension to a delightful concert.
